Star Trek Online: The Space MMORPG in a long-history

On 2 February 2010 had come: Cryptic went boldly go where no Star Trek games had been before: online. And, quite rightly is not. Many Star Trek games like Star Trek credits: Armada and Star Trek: Elite Force Multiplayer modes are supported .

Much like our interview on Star Trek Online, this was done back in December. We were lucky enough to sit down with Bill Roper to answer some questions about the launch of Champions Online and the future of the game…

…Quite good! We ve had a lot of support recently where players are telling us they want more of the in-game un-lockable items available in the C-Store. Our players are basically saying, I don t have the time required to earn these in game, but I m comfortable with buying them as a micro-transaction instead. We re also adding content that can only be purchased as micro-transactions. These have been a big hit with our players, and we re continuing to hear from the community what they want to see next….

…just heal types. But you will find on occasion most likely very expensive double and triple buff types for example Mattson Tribble will give you Health Regen and Dps buffs.
There are basically Four Types of Tribbles:
First type of tribble will heal you out of combat for 1.25 seconds. It has a 6 second recharge.
Second Type of Tribble is a Health Regeneration Tribble that slightly increases your natural regenerative capabilities
Third Type of tribble will Buff you with Damage Resistance buff for an hour, it take 1.25 seconds to activate out of combat. This will increase your natural ability to resist all damage types.
Fourth type of tribble is a DPS Tribble, This is one of my favorite buffs since it works both in space and in ground combat. This tribble boosts your natural production of adrenaline improving your damage capabilities.
As you can see tribbles are just not a useless pets that just heals you or eats all your food and batteries in your bag. If you are luck enough to get a tribble with double or…

Review: Star Trek: Online

Make no mistake, I really love Star Trek. On any given day I might sit down and re-watch two or three episodes of Deep Space Nine or The Original Series for no particular reason. DS9 is my favorite trek, and while it’s a step-child among the Trek franchises, my love of it prepared me well to judge Star Trek: Online as a fan.

…I also found plenty of opportunities for group combat and flying in formation with a couple other ships against a hornets nest of enemies was always a treat. Yet it’s far from a perfect system. The lack of consequences for getting your ship blown up takes away a great deal of drama from battle. Pulling my ship back from the brink of destruction really pulled me into the experience, but that was only before I realized death had no lasting effect on you. After I realized the truth, I became quite casual about sending my ship into swarms of angry enemies. The lack of truly open space combat is also disappointing. The game is oriented on a flat plane that you can only turn so many degrees away from, meaning that some flight paths that should be reasonable are impossible or impractical.
Outside of combat, ships are frustrating for their lack of interiors. I had hoped for the ability to auto-travel and scope out my ship while I waited. Maybe kill a little time drinking some synth ale or telling my engineers that…

Players will be able to create a Klingon character after they unlock the first sector block of Federation content, about five hours into the game. Their Klingon character will begin at a rank approximately equal to the Federation character that unlocked the content.
Klingon Captains have the same number of skills available as their Federation counterparts, including the same professions. Your Klingon Captain can be a Science, Engineering or Tactical officer. However, they must advance through PvP, as they will not have access to the same amount of player-vs.-environment content as Federation players at launch….

Star Trek Online Beta Impression

Space… the final frontier…

…s right folks. Atari, and Cryptic have banded together to make Star Trek Online to enrich the MMO world, and thousands of gamers beamed aboard to play the beta. With phasers set to kill and transporters all set to beam down to the planet surface, it is time to explore like we never explored before.
Disclaimer: Remember this is only a beta impression.
With the story taking place thirty years after Star Trek Nemesis, you start the game by making your character. Of course you do. As required in any MMO. In the beta you start off as the Federation to start your off with your characters. The character creator is probably one of the bests one out there. From cranial shape to neck width, you get to control almost every aspect on your character. If you are wondering how I made with my character, all I am going to say is my character was a female Vulcan name Houka.
After my character was completed, it was time to take reigns of our starship. Which, unlike Eve-Online, space travel in Star Trek Online is flat. Which…
